During a stay on this lodge you feel the hospitality in every detail; beginning with the design of main building and accomodations, continuing with the selection of food and the treatment of the guests: hospitality isn't just a word here, but gets lived. You can really look forward to the nice atmosphere on the lodge and to a very special holiday!
Besides the rides you should enjoy a carriage ride or some game drives. Additionally you can go on different hikes, with a guide if you wish to.
We have meals together - either at the long table in the main building or on the terrace with a wonderful view to the waterhole, which is illuminated at night. If you're lucky you can watch kudus, mountain zebras, springboks or other animals while eating.
Being situated between Swakopmund and Okahandja the lodge is a perfect point of departure for different excursions. In one day you can visit the Namib Naukluft Park, the Erongo mountains, the Spitzkoppe or the village Omaruru. If you are interested in seing Swakopmund and the Etosha Nationalpark you should take a bit more time. We are happy to give you further information concerning excursions.
You can certainly include a stay on the lodge into your Namibia circular tour. Located in central Namibia and not far from Windhoek, it is a good place for beginning or ending your Namibia holiday. But don't plan a very short stay - you would certainly regret it.
The lodge is situated in a wildlife reserve - wild animals are protected here (compared to a lot of places in Namibia, where guests come for going hunting). The owners even founded a foundation for the protection of the endangered Hartmann mountain zebra (which also lives in the wildlife reserve). Also the breed of the domestic Basotho horses has the reason to support the local animal population.
During your rides you will enjoy the fact, that Basotho horses are domestic here. With their sturdy hooves they climb through rocky landscape without any difficulty and they have no problem with the heat.
And just like the guests they are very happy - besides the hikes through rocky landscape - about a nice canter through sandy desiccated river beds.
The dot on the i concerning hospitality is the small Jack Russell Terrier named Paulchen. He feels completely responsible for new guests, joins them on walks, brings them to the table and is just happy that they are there.
