You feel comfortable on your compact, white and responsive horse. You got familiar with the unusual saddle very fast and you completely enjoy the diversified landscape of this region - paddy fields, herds of bulls and horses as well as forested regions along the river banks pass by... The only reason that makes you long for the end of this ride a little bit is the prospect of the evening at the "mas" - with good Provencal food and in good company... these are holidays!

For your next Camargue holiday we have a wonderful home to offer you. In a familiar atmosphere you are accomodated in a typical provencal "mas". There are guestrooms or two appartments available - from full board to self-catering, depending on your individual preferences. Children are very welcome as well; two dogs, cats and certainly all the horses are always happy to have small two legged visitors.

The mas is about 30 km away from the coast; in a 30 minutes drive you arrive at the famous town Saintes Maries de la Mer with its never ending beach. Additionally you can go on different excursions through the Parc Régional de Camargue, visit the "Van Gogh town" Arles, Aigues-Mortes or Les Baux-de-Provence - situated in the rocky Alpilles.

You can book the well-priced all inclusive week, single overnight stays in the guest rooms or you book one of the holiday flats - you find all the prices below. Rides for adults and children can be booked as a packet or separately.

Interested guests (12 years and older) can participate in the rides, which are organized from Monday to Friday. On three days you go on shorter rides from about 1,5 to 3 hours into the surrounding area. On one day the horses are loaded, because what is a riding week in the Camargue without a beach ride! You go on a dayride along the beach and through the swampland of the Camargue - lunch is included in the program.
On another day you go on a dayride through the surroundings of the farm including a picnic lunch.

Certainly riding can as well be tried by beginners; patient and experienced horses will take care of these riders.

Younger children are also allowed to sit in the saddle. At least three times a week special children rides are organized. Younger children are led by an adult by foot.

   (2x dinner is not included, because the restaurants in the region are happy having guests and your hosts

Possibility 3: Book an appartment (up to 5 persons)

The holiday flats (one is connected to the main building, another one is situated above the stable) consist of two rooms (one sleeping room with two beds and one room with three beds - a bunk or double bed and a single bed; you pass this room for entering the kitchen and the bathroom), a well equipped kitchen and a bathroom.

Price per week 2012 (Saturday to Saturday): € 690,--
plus € 30,-- per person for electricity, water, bedclothes, final cleaning.

Optional is to additionally book breakfast (€ 9,-- per person; € 7,-- for children from 2 to 12 years).

Riding packages:

Riding package (from 12 years on): € 220,-- per person
a daily ride from Monday to Friday, that is 3 rides from 1,5 to 3 hours, 1 dayride with picnic and 1 dayride along the sea with lunch.

Children riding package: € 75,-- per child
three short rides per week. Depending on the age and the riding skills, the children ride in a group or are led by an adult by foot on special rides. Children with good riding skills might be able to participate in the "normal" rides (adult rides). This will be decided on the spot by the hosts together with the parents.

Single costs for meals and rides:

•  dinner with drinks included: € 28,-- (children up to 12 years: € 20,--)
   served is provencal cuisine with fresh products bought on the market or at organic farms
•  Riding (on Camargue and Andalusian horses at large part raised here):
     • a ride of 1 to 1,5 hours: € 30,--
     • a ride of 2,5 to 3 hours: € 40,--
     • half day ride with picnic: € 50,--
     • half day ride at the sea with lunch: € 80,--
     • dayride with picnic: € 80,--

Advice: For the free time there are bicycles, a library, deck chairs and a room with fireplace at your disposal (free of charge).

•  heating is included in the price: central heating in the guest rooms, small electric ovens in the appartment
•  next shopping possibility: in St. Gilles about 3 km from the farm - small shops, twice a week a market as well as
   a big supermarket

The rides are guaranteed, because they are carried out already with one rider.

riding ability required:
this program fits for riders with different riding abilities, because the rides are adapted to the particular abilities.

weight:
you should not weigh more than 90 kg.

riding pensum:
from 5 to 7 hours during the dayrides and 1,5 to 3 hours during the other rides.

horses and saddles:
The horses are Camargue and Spanish horses. Most of them were born and grew up here. The saddles are in the main part Camargue saddles, some are western saddles.

Please inform us if you need a special diet.

What to bring:

•  good riding clothes for different temperatures and wind strengths
•  rain clothes (just in case...)
•  shoes for riding (good sneakers or bootees are ideal)
•  riding helmet, if you wish to wear one
•  insect repellent

Regarding the journey:

For arriving by train your possible destination stations are Nimes and Arles. From there we can organize a pick-up (depending on the exact arrival time, it might be required to do another short trip by bus or taxi).
Possible airports are Marseille (about 110 km to the farm; see e.g. Air France or Lufthansa for details) and Montpellier (about 60 km to the farm, check e.g. Ryanair).

For arriving at the farm and for your stay we would advice a car, if you wish to do excursions, because the farm is almost impossible to leave or reach by public transport. Depending on the distance it can that's why make sense to travel with the own car. But don't forget to consider, that on French motorways the charges sum up quite fastly!
