1. Riding week "Maremma Laziale"

During this week you get to know different faces of the Maremma Laziale. We discover the region Farnesiana, the Valle del Mignone and we ride to the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. We pass several hills, cross valleys and rivers and ride on endless roads through this lovely region. Your accomodation is a villa close to the sea.

Sample itinerary*:

Day 1:
Arrival in the afternoon, room allocation. Dinner in a restaurant in the village.

Day 2:
After breakfast transfer to the stable. You get to know your horse and we start our half day ride along the route of the old roman Trajan aqueduct; a wonderful ride through the Mediterranean forest, which is famous for its colours, its special smell and its warm climate - especially in autumn and winter. Return to the stable and transfer to the accomodation. Free afternoon and evening.

Day 3:
Today we go on our first whole day ride. On wonderful paths we ride over hills, through valley, pass "Pian de Civita" and "Pian de Regina" - the Etruscan roots of Tarquinia. At lunchtime we arrive Tarquinia, where we leave our horses outside the city wall and have lunch in an Italian bar. In the afternoon we ride back to the stable on a different road. Transfer to the accomodation in the late afternoon.

Day 4:
On this half day ride you get to know another face of this region. We ride through the main valley of the Farnesiana and have a break at the Etruscan site "Cencelle", which we can visit. Return to the stable at noon and transfer to your accomodation.

Day 5:
The destination of our second whole day ride is the sea passing the Maremma plain. Weather permitting we have a bath in the sea together with our horses. We do our lunch break in a pine grove and again have the possibility to go for a bath. On the way back we ride along the river Mignone and reach the stable in the late afternoon. Transfer to the accomodation.

Day 6:
Today we sleep late and start our half day ride in the afternoon. You get a new impression of this region, which was inhabited by the Etruscans until 2000 years ago. In parts we ride along the Ferrovia, the former railway line from Civitavecchia to Orte. Nowadays this road is perfect to go riding, we have several speedy trots while having a wonderful view. Return to the stable in the evening, transfer to the accomodation and dinner together.
