In about a 30 minutes drive (a bit longer with a horse trailer) you arrive at the Mediterranean Sea - beautiful destinations are the villages Stes.-Maries-de-la-Mer, the capital of the Camargue, or Grau du Roi.

Riding and hiking terrain:

Close-by the dry wine hills of the Costières de Nîmes are situated with an ample path network and wonderful views. Additionally it is not far to reach the wetlands of the river Vistre, where the pastures of the black bulls are located.

With car and trailer it is no long journey to reach the ample beach of Stes.-Maries-de-la-Mer - a wonderful place to go riding! Many professional riders train their horses here, you can ride endlessly along the beach and through the swampland nearby.
A completely different region can as well be reached in a relatively short time: the Alpilles. This landscape gives you the impression of being in high mountains although you are only some hundred meters "above" the Camargue.

Prices 2011/2012:

In the rental price is included either a dinner for 2 persons (not the first evening) or for guests with an own horse a half day guided ride (also possible at the beach)!

Additional costs:

•  Electricity according to consumption: € 15,-- per 100 kWh
•  Guest horse: € 20,-- per week including pasture (hay and other food costs extra)
•  Guest dog: € 10,-- per week for additional cleaning effort

Regarding the journey :

Destination stations are Nimes and Montpellier.
Destination airports are Montpellier and Marseille.

For arriving at the holiday cottage and your stay it is necessary to have a car, because the house is situated out of town and so excursions or shopping tours are not possible without a car.
Depending on the distance it might make sense to travel with your own car. But don't forget to consider, that on French motorways the charges sum up quite fastly!
