... an extremely hospitable country, pure sea water, steep cliffy coasts, green hills, traditional rural accomodation, very good cypriot cuisine and diligent - well kept - horses!

Cyprus is a member of the European Union, although geographically it already belongs to Asia. To visitors bright sunshine is almost garanteed, because Cyprus is the island of 340 days of sunshine each year! Our partner is situated in southern Cyprus between Larnaka and Limassol, a bit inland from the famous Governor's Beach.
In summer it gets very hot, that's why we don't offer dayrides in this period. So we have two different programs to offer, which are available depending on the season. Non-riders can join riders on their trip to Cyprus, because the the riding program is limited (compared to other riding holiday offers). So there is enough time left for going to the beach or on excursions!

program „short rides or lessons“ (available all the year round) :

This program is suitable both for advanced riders and for beginners. Advanced riders go on a 2-hour-ride into the surroundings of the farm every day, beginners have a riding lesson every day in the riding arena and at the end of the week they should be ready for going on a slow ride into the surroundings.

"winter program" (October until April):

In winter there are more possibilities for going on rides due to the cooler weather. So the winter program contains 4 "normal" 2-hour-rides and on 2 days of the week we spend the whole day in the saddle!
The first dayride will lead us towards the coast: to the famous Governor's Beach! During this ride we will almost continuously have a sea view, which is expectionally beautiful in Cyprus, because the sea is crystal clear. Today we have a late lunch in a restaurant next to the sea and afterwards us and the horses are brought back to the farm with a trailer.
On the second dayride we head towards the hinterland through and over rolling hills with beautiful outlooks. We ride through a riverbed, along very old olive trees, orange plantations until we reach our picnic place near a very old church. In the afternoon we ride back to the farm.

•  accomodation (7 nights) in traditional cypriot holiday flats in a small village
•  half board (good, mostly cypriot cuisine) in a tavern near the holiday flats
•  the respective riding program (on dayrides lunch is included) at the farm, which is a 10 minutes drive away from
   the accomodation

•  a voucher from the insolvency insurance
•  transfer from Larnaka airport if required; we strongly recommend to book a rental car, because this is necessary
   for reaching the farm or for going on excursions.

General information and requirements:

Number of participants: 1 to 3-4 riders

Riding ability required:
winter program: You need to be in a good physical condition and be able to control a well-ridden horse in the three paces. You should also have experience in trail riding.
program "short rides or lessons": for the rides you should be an advanced rider, for the lessons there is no previous knowledge required.
Our partner expects the guests to wear a riding helmet; there are helmets available on the farm (free of charge).

Weight: You should not weigh more than 85 kg.

Age: children who are 3 years and older can ride on a pony, from 8 years on it is possible to get a riding lesson. Children up to 12 years generally wear protection vests on horseback, wearing a riding helmet is essential as well - either vests as well as helmets are available on the farm.
Children who are 12 years and older can book the riding programs described above, if they are accompanied by an adult and if they are experienced riders. In this case children pay the normal price for the riding holidays.

Horses: mainly Arab-mix horses are being used, most of them are ridden with a western saddle. Some english saddles are available as well.

Meeting point: Airport Larnaka or right at the accomodation

Please inform us if you need a special diet.

Possible excursions:

•  Governor's Beach: several bays between white and in parts steep cliffs
•  Choirokotía: near your accomodation the excavation of this 8000 years old stone age village is situated
•  Kourion: big archeological site above a large sandy beach
•  Troodos: in a relatively short drive you are at almost 2000 meters above sea level - a totally different world!

What to bring :

•  towels for use at pool or beach
•  riding clothes
•  rain cape (to use if it rains shortly, what happens very rarely)
•  riding boots
•  riding helmet (if you wish to wear your own)
•  bathing suit
•  suncream
•  camera

Available on-site:

•  riding helmets (if you don't want to bring your own)
•  protection vests for children up to 12 years
•  bedclothes
•  towels (for use in the rooms)

Regarding the journey:

The nearest airport is Larnaka. The national airline is Cyprus Airways, which offers nonstop flights to Larnaka from many countries. Otherwise you can chose your national airline or different charter flights to Cyprus.
