... the nature park Los Alcornocales - which is situated north of Costa del Sol - with its endless cork tree forests, its impressing sandstone formations and its speciose fauna on horseback, by bike or by foot.

You are accomodated on a cozy, familial and hospitable ranch arranging your stay according to your individual preferences. You can book an activity program and different meals or you decide to do self-catering and organize your own program - in either case you will really enjoy your stay at this place in Andalusia.
Besides the eating room, a barbecue place and a bar guests can use the swimming pool and the tennis court free of charge. A sauna can be used for a fee.

The ranch is situated outside Jimena de la Frontera, a neat white village with a castle, from which you enjoy a wonderful view over the hills of the nature park (and where from time to time you can watch vultures circling...). Besides a supermarket, a few bars and shops there is a weekly market, where you can buy food, clothes, shoes and household goods and where the inhabitants meet for a bit of small talk.
This region seems to be so different from what you think classical Andalusia looks like, but anyway it is not far from the Costa del Sol. Come into this beautiful region, in which the orange trees can be harvested 3 to 4 times a year!

The accomodation:
There are different possibilities to be accomodated at the ranch:

- 2 apartments for 2, 3 or 4 persons including a bathroom with
  shower and toilet, a kitchen with a fridge and a TV
- 2 double rooms with shower and toilet
- 1 double room with a shower
- 1 single room with a shower

Additionally there is a spacious living room with a fireplace and a TV available for the guests, a guest kitchen and an additional bathroom with shower and toilet.

Horseback riding:
A small group of different horses is looking forward to welcome horse loving guests. In large part they descend from Spanish horses, but there are as well some exotic horses, like e.g. the nice cold blood mix, who likes to show the beautiful surroundings also to heavier riders. The horses are kept in an open stable with lots of eucalyptus trees and on surrounding pastures. Riders with riding experience can discover the beautiful surrounding nature on different riding tours; beginners - kids are certainly welcome as well - start their career in the shady riding corral. After some lessons it will certainly be possible to go on a slow ride into the countryside.
The horses are ridden with English and Western saddles and in a leisure riding style. The weight limit for riding is 100 kilos.

Hiking:
For hikers the untouched powerful nature of the surroundings is surely as attractive as for riders. There are unlimited possibilities for guests, who enjoy hiking and walking; on request there can also be organized guided walking-tours.

Mountain biking:
There are also lots of possibilities for mountain bikers. On the ranch some mountain bikes can be rented.

Location of the ranch / distances:
Due to its advantageous position inland of Gibraltar the ranch is an ideal starting point for excursions to the Costa del Sol and the Costa de la Luz.

Regarding the journey:

The best destination airport for a stay on the ranch is Malaga airport, which can be reached with normal and low cost carriers. Possible alternatives are Jerez or maybe Sevilla. We recommend to book a rental car, because the ranch is situated outside Jimena and a car is needed to go shopping, to do some excursions or to drive to the beach. Certainly we give you more information if you wish to arrive without a rental car.
